Top sailing spots in Costa Blanca

Tabarca Island

Tabarca Island, located 12 miles SE of Alicante, is a must see. On the Island we will find part of the beauty of the Island itself, a beach located on the Southeast side of the Island that we can anchor and bathe as long as the prevailing winds are from the North, Levante or Mistral. On the Island there are numerous restaurants, as well as a hospitality service where you can rest. If you come to Tabarca, you cannot leave without trying its famous rice, cauldron or fish from the area.

Orihuela Costa

It is really nice to sail around this area to get a general impression that differs from the typical high buildings of places like Torrevieja. In addition, the beaches that surround Cabo Roig are very different from the rest of Levante beaches since in a space of about 10 kms of coast there are about 15 coves, all of fine golden sand. Sailing close to this area will let us appreaciate this difference. If we follow our rute to the south, we will arrive first to Campoamor and then to La Torre de la Horadada, the last town in the province of Alicante before getting to Murcia. The legend says that the inhabitants of the area were the object of continuous pirate attacks and that thanks to the system of watchtowers (Torre means watchtower) that used seashells as a warning system among them, the invaders could be killed.

Mar Menor

Have you always thought about sailing the biggest salty lake in Europe? Although the current state of the water could be better, it is a recommended spot because of its calmed waters. Inside Mar Menor there are a few interesting islands to explore. The most famous one is La Perdiguera. You can’t leave this area without having Mar Menor’s typical rice, the Caldero.

Cabo de Palos

Cabo de Palos is probably the place in the area where you will find the best water for sailing and having a good bath. Its biodiversity is one of the richest in Europe. Cabo de Palos is one of the most important places in Europe for diving, so take your goggles, have a bath and enjoy the views under the water!
